Long Term Nursing Scholarship from Montana Health Care Association
Applicants looking to pursue a career in nursing with a focus on long term care may qualify for one of the 2011 Donald E. Pizzini Memorial Nurse Scholarships from the Montana Health Care Association Scholarship Fund. Long Term Care Nurses Association Scholarships
Two scholarships of $1,000 each are awarded by the Long Term Care Nurses Association for nurses aides, LPNs and Rns to further their careers in long-term care nursing. The deadline to apply is December 31. Applications must be employed in a long term care facility or program in Illinois that is a member of the Illinois Council on Long Term Care (ICLTC) or the Illinois Health Care Association (IHCA) and meet other employment requirements. NADONA Long Term Care Nursing Scholarships
The National Association Directors of Nursing Administration (NADONA) in Long Term Care Upward Bound Scholarship provides financial assistance to nurses who are currently employed in long-term care and looking to pursue higher education in that area of study. Candidates must be a certified nursing assistance, licensed practical nurse or an RN accepted or enrolled in a program according to the terms of the scholarships. The duration of the scholarship is one year with a February application deadline. Each year, the Long Term Care Nurses Scholarship fund awards three scholarships of $500 each to individuals who have been employees of long term care facilities for a minimum of two years and currently enrolled in an RN education program. Every year the New Hampshire Long Term Care Foundation (LTCF) awards multiple scholarships to students who are pursuing or looking to pursue a career in long-term care. Since its beginning in 1995, the LTCF awarded over $170,000 in scholarships to more than 100 people. Scholarships range from $2,500 to $3,500 and are open to all areas of long-term care. Virginia Long Term Care Nursing Scholarships
The Virginia Health Care Association and Virginia Center for Assistant Living's Commonwealth Long Term Care Foundation offers multiple scholarships of $1,500 for each qualified recipient pursuing nursing education in long term care. Texas State University Long Term Care Scholarships
Students at Texas State University pursuing careers relevant to long term care servces might qualify for Texas Long Term Care Institute scholarship awards of $500 to $1,000. Undergraduate and graduate students must complete an application and be nominated by a faculty member. Recipients must complete at least one 3-hour course in aging, complete a long term placement internship, seek employ in long term care upon graduation, be a resource to the Institute and inform the Institute of address changes and securing employment. To promote long term care nursing, the Wisconsin Director of Nursing Council is offering three $1,000 scholarships to assist qualified people looking to further their education and pursue a career in this profession. Applicants must be Wisconsin residents currently working in a Wisconsin long term care facility who agree to work in a long term care facility for at least one year after completing a nursing program. The application must include two recommendation forms and an acceptance letter into an accredited LPN, BSN or RN program. The deadline to apply is December 27 and applications will become available in September. Students who meet the qualifications set forth by the Louisiana Nursing Home Associations Long Term Care Foundation (LTCF) may qualify for one of their $500 scholarship awards. Students looking to pursue an education and career in long term care nursing may qualify for The Imogene Ward Scholarship through the Florida Association Directors of Nursing Administration (FADONA). Scholarships are limited to students pursuing an education to become registered nurses. Applicants must be nominated, endorsed by a FADONA member, enrolled in an accredited Florida nursing program, be actively employed, have a track record of excellence in long term care and be willing to pledge a minimum of working full-time for two years in long term care in Florida. Qualified individuals looking to further their education and practice in the long term care health profession may qualify for the Allan B. Engen Nurse Scholarship through the North Dakota Long Term Care Association.
