An endowment scholarship in the name of nursing instructor Teresa Gulati will be administered by the Arnot Ogden Medical Center Foundation. The Teresa Gulati Nursing Scholarship is scheduled to make two awards totaling $5,000 annually to nursing students at the school in their second or later year of study. Gulati served Arnot as a perioperative nurse and later as a nursing instructor. The Denver Association of Operating Room Nurses (DAORN) offers scholarships to its active members meeting certain criteria. Scholarships of $250 are awarded annually per qualified applicant. In honor of his service as a perioperative nurse and administrator, the Joseph Hageman Memorial Nursing Scholarship is awarded through the CarolinaEast Foundation to students pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing in the amount of $2,250. There is also an award in the amount of $1,500 for students pursuing an Associate of Applied Science degree in nursing. The application deadline is April 8. Candidates must be a resident of Jones, Pamlico or Craven counties, be enrolled as a full-time nursing student at an accredited college and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or better.
