Danville Community College Nursing Scholarships

Over the next five years, 60 scholarships will be awarded by the Danville Regional Medical Center to attend the nursing program at Danville Community College in Virginia. Larry L. Guthrie Nursing Scholarship

Larry Guthrie started his higher education at Wenatchee Community College and played football then transferred to Gonzaga University, graduaing with the Degree in Business Economics in 1966. His mother also attended Gonzaga while going to nursing school at Sacred Heart Hospital and receiving her nursing degree in 1941. She always spoke highly of her education at Gonzaga University. In honor of his mother, Larry established this scholarship in 2005. Abell-Hanger Foundation Nursing Awards

Students who participate in the programs of the Texas Interscholastic League Foundation and want to study nursing may get financial help through Abell-Hanger Foundation Nursing Awards. The awards ware $8,000 each, payable $2,000 each semester of the first two years. Preference is given to award applicants from 56 West Texas counties. Recipients are required to have an SAT/ACT score of 1650/24 or higher and attend a sate supported, fully accredited four-year university or college. The nursing program at Minnesota State University Mankata has grown over the past few years and their scholarship offerings show it.
